July 4th Updated - Parade, Cook Out, Pool and More

The following activities are being planned for July 4th in the neighborhood.

Updates will be posted as details are finalized, but plan on the following general events/times.



Decorate your favorite bike, scooter or skateboard and come down to Swallowtail Park to show your July 4th spirit. Kids will take 1 (or more) laps around Swallowtail Park and popsicles will be available after the parade.

For those new to the event, please arrive a few minutes early. The event starts right at 10:30 and doesn't last very long.



A variety of fun games are being planned for children and adults at the pool from 12 - 2.  The list of games is being finalized, but water balloon toss, parent/child relays, greased watermelons and more are likely to be on the list.

Charles House of Independence will grill out at the Founders Bridge pool on Monday, July 4 from 12-2!

The following meals will be offered and each will  include CHIPS, SODA (or gatorade or bottled water) AND DESSERT:

Hamburger Meal -  $10  with fixings

Hotdogs  Meal -      $8 with fixings

Summer Salad -        $10

A  la carte options will also be available for those who want to supplement full meals or prefer to buy individual items.

If you plan to take advantage of the Charles House cook out,  please email jmccool@independencegolfclub.com to let Jocelyn know an approximate head count.  She doesn't need a specific order, just an idea of how many to expect!

If you are undecided,  you can also just show up and place orders on July 4th ... Charles House plans to have extra food available for sale.

So, plan to come out to the pool ... enjoy the games and a have a  great lunch!


BYO snacks, drinks, chairs, blankets and sparklers to Swallowtail Park just before dark. An amateur (but getting bigger and better every year) display of July 4th spirit will take place just after dark!
